  • 'I have always been greatly inspired by
    Renaissance and pre-Raphaelite art and
its depiction of the human form, but the
emphasis has often been on that of the
female body in art. The beauty and grace
that we often associate with the feminine
nature of the universe wasn't really
something that I was seeing in the
paintings of the men through history,
and that had always left me questioning
why that was so. Of course there are lots
of beautiful images of the masculine form
by some truly great artists, but I was finding
that the concepts of power, strength, and
dominance were often portrayed over the
more ethereal nature of our true inner selves'
